One-Page Synopsis
Pig Farmer
In the Name of God
Raymond and his wife, Alice, are pig farmers in North Dakota. They are empty nesters. Their son, Wayne, moved to Bismarck and their daughter, Tara, moved to Los Angeles — both for career opportunities.
The Lord’s Warrior
Raymund is a deeply religious and deeply disturbed man. He considers himself a true Christian and believes he is sanctioned by God to eliminate non-believers and sinners. Raymund is the Lord’s warrior. Alice also considers herself a Christian, but doesn’t hold the same extreme views as her husband. Alice goes into the local town four days a week to do volunteer work for the Church and occasionally takes three-day trips to Indian Reservations for mission assignments.
Raymund started his Crusade many years ago. His first victim was a ‘long hair’ hitchhiker who was heading west. Raymund has a pattern — he makes small talk first, then asks if the person is a Christian. If they aren’t, the heathen must be eliminated. Raymund always kept starved boars and sows in the barn that killed and devoured the victims — no trace was left. He also murdered some of the heretics using heavy farm equipment, then buried or fed their remains to the pigs.
Raymund’s victims numbered about a dozen to date. He is on a holy mission from God, so the number is irrelevant. Raymund has been careful to only pick up single people so there are no witnesses. When a combine repairman came out late one day, Raymund discovered he was not a Christian and pushed him into the twisting snap rolls of the combine head. His body was shredded and spit out the back of the powerful machine. Convincing local police he never saw the man wasn’t easy, since his truck was on the farmstead — but Raymund exploited his Christianity and duped the officers.
All Hell Breaks Loose
When Tara brought a couple of friends home from Los Angeles, Raymund was shocked at their ‘loose’ morals and agnostic viewpoints. He had never eliminated anybody he or his family knew. Raymund was conflicted. He prayed to God and received a clear answer — the vermin from California must be vanquished.
When Raymund offers to give Tara’s friends a tour of the pig operation, they politely accept. When he tries to separate them and end their lives, the girls fight back. Raymund sees this as an epic battle between good and evil. He prays to God for support as all Hell breaks loose.
